The sun was setting in the distance, causing the valley to rapidly cool around the equine. He could barely see the faint tinge of red and orange as he looked up at the mountains beyond. Snorting, he turned and headed for the river that meandered its way through his lands. He treaded carefully, not wanting to make to much sound. It was so quiet, it was almost maddening. Quickly, he moved into a graceful canter, glad that his flints could make such noise. When there is silence here, it seems so thick one could hardly move.
Wavy, black tassels and banner flew behind him as he gained speed. Muscular pillars pumped along, carrying him quickly to his destination. In the distance, he saw a faint sparkle of water and could smell it on the wind. He quickened his pace even more until he was in a full-tilt gallop. It was exhilarating, but he knew he would have to stop and walk, or risk being overheated. Slowing, he came to rivers edge and dipped his visage to the cool surface of the water. It felt good as he drank his fill. The cool water slowed his racing heart.
Turning, he surveyed his land. It was huge, really. He had claimed the whole area between these particular mountains. It was covered in lush green grass and a thick forest. He had actually never yet explored the whole of it. Sighing, he lowered himself to the ground to rest, content.

The setting sun gave her black pelt a sort of glow. Her ribbon flew out behind her as she galloped through the unfamilar territory. It seemed to fit her, it seemed... evil. The way she was. Her ribbon was also flying, in a graceful way as the breeze carried it.
Soon, she slowed to a trot, then finially a walk. The mare stopped and lowered her cranium. She took a drink from the river that stood in front of her. Her black head rose, and she winnied. Looking around, she saw another horse. Ignoring the figure, she layed down and watched.

The wind carried the scent of another equine to his sensitive nares. It startled him at first. No one had been in his lands, especially without permission, in years. He had lived here, comfortably alone, and he liked it that way. Snorting, he jumped gracefully over the water and headed toward the smell. As he came closer, he could tell that it was a femmora. The mist was beginning to get thick once again. He situated himself so that he would come out of the mist in a grand display. As he moved toward her, mist curling about his feathers and crania, he smiled.
Orbs took in the sight of the fae laying there casually. Really, she should be scared to death by now. He knew for a fact that his entrance had been splendid. It should have looked like he had materialized right out of no where, but she did not have a surprised look on her facade at all. He watched her carefully before opening his maw to speak.
"Vixen, what be your cursing and why have you come into my lands?" Mars was not one to beat around the bush. He wanted to know what she was doing here, uninvited and alone. If he had been in a bad mood, he could have easily come along and killed her. Knowing him, he would've done it whether he had been in a bad mood or good mood. Today, though, was different. He had to admit that he was lonely and desperately wanted company, especially that of a female.

She looked around, and soon she could not look farther than a horse length in front of her. The mist had tightened up and thickened around the area. The fog had soon shifted it's position, and another shaped appeared, taking shape of a horse. Then, it had appeared through the fog and it was an actual horse. She looked at the horse, and saw his expression.
"I don't get scared easily." It was true, the mare was not scared. She must admit she was startled, but not scared. Her black pelt that was shining earlier darkened as the sun disapeared over the area. She seemed like a shadow now.
Time to get to the point. She turned around so she wasn't facing him anymore. "We both know you need members in you herd. God is arising and becoming strong. It's only a matter of time before he strikes." She turned to face him again. "And we both know even you can't beat a full herd by yourself. No doubt God will want you dead to bring peace to the world." The mare was pretty sure that Mars knew all of this, but he had to be reminded. She snorted, then winnied.
